June has already been a busy month for our family! So what’s ahead now? I have chemo on Friday-the last of the “hard” chemo! Please pray that I will be able to manage the side effects well. Saturday is our town celebration, Bennington Daze, where our church will have a float in the parade and hand out flyers, and man a booth in the park with wordless bracelets for kids to make and a community survey for adults. This will be a kick-off for our 2 VBS’s in the park next week. What a blessing to have the youth group from Slater Baptist Church in Slater, IA come out to help us run VBS. I would like to be able to help out and talk with parents as much as I am up to next week, so I’m praying for a very good week after chemo!
Then we are off to Colorado! We will be attending the GARBC National Conference. Eric has the opportunity to be on a panel of young church planters for one of the workshops while we are there. We are also hoping to talk with some pastors about deputation meetings to help us raise our ministry support. Thanks to many recent new supporting individuals and churches we are now up to 43% of our needed support! It’s exciting to see God increase our support when we haven’t had the time to put toward raising it lately!
Once the conference is over, we are going to take the weekend for a family vacation! Since starting this battle with cancer, I have received several gifts from friends and those that don’t even know me that want me to use their gift for something fun or a special treat, so we will be taking a few days together as a family to enjoy Colorado. What a blessing! Thank you so much to those that have made this possible. We haven’t really taken a “vacation” with our kids before other than to visit family, so vacation ideas for a young family (our kids are 8, 4, and almost 3) in the Denver or surrounding area are welcome. Thank you all for your prayers as we have a busy few weeks coming up!
