Unexpectedly Expecting… September 25, 2012

Filed under: Uncategorized — awilmeth @ 3:08 PM

When we planned for this day almost a year ago, and scheduled this surgery date back in June, we were definitely not expecting what God had in mind for us today! Proverbs 16:9 holds true for us today for sure:

“The mind of man plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.”

We were planning to celebrate my FINAL surgery on this cancer journey! I checked in at the surgery center, filled out all the paperwork, answered all the routine surgery questions, and prepping for surgery. We were waiting for my surgeon to come in to mark me all up before heading to the OR. She comes in and says, “Well, we are NOT going to be doing surgery today.”

Wait, what?!?

Turns out we’ll have to wait about 9 months before we can do this surgery now.

What!!!

That’s right.

Did you catch that???

In June or July, I’ll be able to have this surgery.

So now God has given us a new reason to celebrate! Did I give you enough time to guess yet? πŸ˜‰ I know it is quite a surprise and a bit of a shock, BUT….

…..we are…

….UNEXPECTEDLY EXPECTING!!!!

We are rejoicing in our VERY new little gift from God: “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above” James 1:17

And the journey continues… πŸ™‚
