Baby Day! April 16, 2013

Filed under: Uncategorized — awilmeth @ 5:36 PM

Once again God has answered our prayers for wisdom and directed our path, giving us a clear direction to go. The amniotic fluid has not changed since yesterday, so THE Big Day will be TOMORROW! We will welcome our little 5 pound blessing and joy, Baby Asher, into the world on April 17th!!! 🙂

Thank you to so many for your prayers and words of encouragement! Pray that our BIG day will go well tomorrow. Asher will have to go to the NICU, as any baby born before 36 weeks is taken there for evaluation. Pray that his lungs will be developed and he won’t have to stay there long. 🙂

The plan right now is to induce at 6am. I’ve never had to be induced before. I was already 2-3 cm dilated yesterday morning at my appointment and I am having contractions when they monitor me, but I don’t feel them yet. They monitored for a half hour this morning and said I had 4 contractions in that time. I would love it if I didn’t have to use Pitocin to get things going, but that is the plan right now.

Pray that we will be able to deliver naturally and not require a C-section. If I do have a C-section, I will have to heal up before I can start some of my aggressive cancer treatments. We want to get started attacking the cancer as soon as possible after delivery, so a natural delivery will make that much easier.

Yesterday my 4 year old, Ethan, brought me his memory verse from Jr. Church on Sunday and I have been reading it, praying, and giving thanks to God as we look forward to meeting our precious little miracle, Baby Asher, face to face!

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I Thessalonians 5:18

Hey there Amy! My name is Dena Hall. I got your name and
this site from Megan Runyan last weekend at the bowling awards. I
was there with my daughter, Jessica, and I overheard her talking
about you. Being a Prayer Warrior, I asked for your info so I could
let the Prayer Warriors know right away and Megan and I said
prayers for you then and there. I have a ministry of going to
Caring Bridge and Care Pages posting positive thoughts and praying
for my Little Baldies (the wee ones with childhood cancer that have
stolen my heart) It started with a boy from church that has a brain
tumor, who referred me to another and they kept doing so despite
what they were going through so now I have about fifty that I am
keeping track of, and you are added to that list as well :O)
Anyhnew, wanted to let you know that I thought I already sent your
update and a prayer out to the Prayer Warriors and signed your book
last night, but it didn’t show up so I’ll try this method.
Hopefully it works. Also wanted to let you know not to sweat your
little one being taken early and developing ok. I was born 46 years
ago at 3lbs. 5oz. and 15 inches long and I’m fine and dandy. :O) My
oldest daughter had major heart surgery at five days old and when I
was in the ICU with her the nurses were astounded that I survived
without all of the modern technology of today and that daughter is
now 20, just got married in December, and is expecting her first
child in December! Praise the Lord!!!! ok, I will let you go and
hopefully this will work this time. LOTS of love and hugs from your
fellow Iowan Prayer Warrior on this rainy day. (we sure do need it,
though) :O) Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for bringing Amy into
my life and once again showing me what true faith in you is all
about. I pray that you will guide the surgeon’s hands as you did
when my daughter had her heart operated on and then each time after
with her scoleosis resulting in a clinically straight back. I pray
that all will go well and baby Asher will arrive healthy with no
complications and that Amy does fine as well with a quick recovery.
Please be with all bringing peace to their hearts and finally I ask
healing upon Amy for her cancer either through your divine touch or
through the doctors you gifted here on earth so she may go on to
raise her child, inspire us with her undying faith, and be a living
testimony of your grace and love. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen Love
